The annual economic value of water and freshwater ecosystems is estimated to be US$58 trillion – equivalent to 60% of global Gross Domestic Product (GDP) (World Wildlife Fund, 2023)

Only 7% of all MPAs are located within one kilometre of the world’s urban centres. The conventional placement of MPAs rarely address the protection of urban waters against cumulative human impacts from cities.

We’ve been working closely with our partner, the CALISUR Foundation, to plant mangroves seedlings as a nature-based solution for combatting climate change.

    We’re working with WaterAid in Niassa Province in Mozambique to to improve WASH facilities in three healthcare centres and across their surrounding communities. By constructing solar panel water provision systems, we will be improving water access infrastructure, and facilitating clean, accessible water supply that helps to safeguard health and hygiene standards.
