DP World Berbera provides services for container terminal operations, General Cargo operations, in addition the terminal offers warehousing, LCL storage/handling and stuffing, un-stuffing of containers as well as export livestock. As an integral part of the Berbera Corridor and the economy of Somaliland, DP World Berbera offers a superior transit gateway to Ethiopia.

SOMALILAND’S LONGEST ESTABLISHED AND NOW BECOMING ONE OF THE MOST PROMINENT PORTS IN EAST AFRICA

As Somaliland’s longest established port, Berbera has been operational for more than a hundred years, and has grown with the city to become one of the most prominent ports in East Africa.

The recent port configuration was developed initially by the Soviet Union in 1968 with the development of a 300 metre linear wharf; it was later developed and extended by the United States in 1984 by a further 350 metres.

In addition to the 650 metres of linear wharf the port also has a ro-ro facility and a livestock loading facility. Secure warehousing is provided within the port area, and pilot and tug services are provided by the Port Authority.
