During the third edition of the Digital Pioneer Awards on Thursday 28 November, PwC Belgium, together with Trends and Google, looked for leading digital transformations in Belgian companies. DP World Antwerp won the new PwC User Experience Award, with which the company demonstrated having the sharpest eye and ear for an optimal user experience.

The jury praised the way in which they examined the user journeys of both truck drivers and terminal operators and the way in which they designed a user-friendly solution to facilitate their daily lives. The jury also praised the way in which they implemented the solution, taking into account the ecosystem of the supply chain and the vision for the roadmap of the platform.

“Our goal for the Route 1700 app was to simplify the work of all truckers who come to DP World and to make their visit as smooth as possible. With that in mind, we designed the app based on direct input from users, "explains Johan Van Wyngene, Chief Information & Innovation Officer at DP World Antwerp. "With this award it is once again clear that digital innovation through co-creation lives in the Port of Antwerp".

“The interaction with the end users allowed us to make improvements throughout the entire logistics chain in the terminal, which were very well received by everyone. The app went live four months ago and the number of users is steadily increasing; that allows us to constantly adjust the app with feedback from the user community, "says Roy Jeunen, Innovation Manager at DP World Antwerp. " This strong user acceptance is proof that it is important to put the user experience at the center of a business transformation We are delighted that we have won the PwC UX award - it is not only a great recognition of everyone's hard work - it is a solid validation of our overall approach.
