Transportation and Mobility Solutions

Automation sits at the core of DP World UAE’s philosophy of providing smart-port solutions. The Real-Time Locating System (RTLS) has revolutionised operations since it was introduced in 2017, by accelerating container efficiency through ports, saving time, and reducing costs for cargo owners. The system provides a comprehensive all-machine and vehicle-inclusive virtual map of Jebel Ali Container Terminal 1, which allows operators to monitor and troubleshoot remotely, improve safety and communication levels and alert teams in case of breaches. From its introduction in 2017 to 2021, the terminal was able to save more than 830 tonnes of fuel, slashing its environmental footprint.

Under the Electrical Terminal Trucks project, DP World will be converting its entire fleet of diesel-powered trucks to fully electric vehicles at the Jebel Ali terminal, cutting the carbon footprint by 50 per cent. It also reduced the total equipment operation and maintenance cost by 40 per cent, and power costs by 60 per cent.

As the premier maritime gateway with access to more than 3.5 billion consumers, DP World UAE has been a key economic driver for the UAE. Through its flagships, the poly-functional Jebel Ali Port, and the integrated business hub Jafza, DP World UAE contributes 33.4 per cent to Dubai’s GDP.
